YMCA CAMPING PRINCIPLES
YMCA resident summer camping is about: - An educational experience in democratic group living

The YMCA’s unique characteristics provide campers with the opportunity to: - Develop leadership abilities.
- Establish wholesome daily health habits.
- Develop increased strength, endurance, and experience fun and adventure in a supervised and safe outdoor program.
- Satisfy their primary emotional needs for affection, acceptance, new experiences and a sense of worth.
- Gain an understanding of and appreciation for persons of other religions, cultures, nationalities and races.
- Develop a sense of responsibility toward the natural world and one's place in it.
- Adjust to group living in a democratic setting by instilling a sense of independence, self reliance and appreciation of one's interdependence
