Y Kanawana Expedition offers individuals, families and groups the opportunity to explore the most beautiful lakes and rivers of the Papineau-Labelle or La Vérendrye wildlife reserve by canoe. Four days of canoe-camping preceded by a day of preparations at Y Kanawana. All activities are tailored to your level of experience and ability and your tastes. The expeditions include a guide, campsite (in tents), meals (menu options), all camping equipment as well as a choice of activities (interpretation, survival activity, astronomy, meteorology, hikes in the forest). Encompassing an ancient mountain range and spanning the Outaouais and the Laurentians regions, this is Quebec’s southern most wildlife reserve. The rich and diverse vegetation provides an ideal environment for bird watching and observing wildlife on land and water, including white-tailed deer, moose, woodcocks, buntings and loons. The reserve boasts 763 lakes and 42 streams and rivers! La Vérendrye wildlife reserve
With more than 4,000 lakes, water is one of the main attractions of the La Vérendrye wildlife reserve, which includes the Grand Lac Victoria and its two huge reservoirs, Dozois and Cabonga, as well as countless rivers. This wilderness paradise, which straddles the Outaouais and Abitibi-Témiscamingue regions, boasts another marvel: floating islands on the reservoirs that offer a changing panorama.
